SALA TIMEFC-STYLE OF PLAY

At Sala Time FC, we believe that having the ball is key when playing Futsal, so our focus will always be on having the ball’ (possession is always more fun than chasing the ball). Futsal is a team sport for a reason, passing the ball as a team is always more effective and enjoyable than a more dribbling free-for-all approach. At SalaTime FC we encourage our players to play two touch Futsal (Futbol de toque)

As you may know, the game of Futsal is divided into 4 parts:

B.P. (Ball possession)

When we have the ball we will be working on a diamond formation (1-2-1), and we will attempt to apply rotations until we can have the space to progress forward with numerical advantage. Length, width, movement and pass accuracy are key factors to be able to have control of the ball.

B.P BPO (Transition to defend)

When we lose the ball, player/s within the proximity of the ball will apply pressure to the opponents carrying the ball and delay opposition progression (other players will run behind the line of the ball and as a team we will workhard to recover our defending shape).

3. BPO (Opposition has possession-defending)

We will need to stay narrow and compact, closing all lines and angles for passing through the middle and forcing players wide onto their weaker foot. We will alternate between 2-2 (box) or 1-2-1 or 1-3 depending on opposition and parts of the game (we will ‘mirror’ opposition formations).

BPO BP (Transition to attack - counterattack)

Quick counter attack when possible, 3 players supporting the attack. It must be quick, simple and direct. Must always be finished with a shot at target.
